February at Cornerstone was nothing short of amazing! From inspiring messages to uplifting programs, it was a month packed with unforgettable moments that reminded us of the power of faith, community, and action. Let’s take a moment to reflect on all the incredible events that made February so special.

We kicked off the month with Go Red Day, raising awareness about the importance of heart health. It was a day full of energy and passion as we focused on physical well-being and heard from our guest speaker, Dr. Donette Blake, the Women's Director of the Northeastern Conference. Her message about the hardness of the heart was so profound. Dr. Blake reminded us that no matter what challenges we face, we must never let a hardened heart block our trust in God. Her words stirred something deep within, and we left that day with renewed faith, determined to trust God even more fully.

The AY Program later in the month was another highlight, focusing on the Fruits of the Spirit. What a blessing it was to gather together and learn more about living out those spiritual qualities in our everyday lives! Following that, the Women’s Department hosted a wonderful mixer where everyone came together to build connections, share laughs, and even learn how to knit scarves. The fellowship was heartwarming, and everyone left feeling closer and more united.

Then, on February 8, we were once again blessed with the powerful preaching of Pastor Uba Obguehi, who challenged us to let our lives reflect God’s grace and mercy. His message was a reminder that, no matter what we face, our stories and struggles shape us into the people God wants us to be. If you were there, you know how deeply his words resonated with us all! It was one of those moments that left everyone thinking, “I’m ready to move forward with God at the helm!”

The following Sabbath, we had the honor of hearing from Dr. Dedrick Blue, the Ministerial Director of the Northeastern Conference, who spoke passionately about being “woke.” He riled up the congregation with the powerful phrase, “Say it loud, I’m woke and proud!” His words struck a chord as he called on us to become agents of change in our communities and boldly share the gospel. Dr. Blue reminded us that now is the time for the people of God to wake up and make a difference, and his message was exactly what we needed to hear at this moment in time.

The excitement continued with a thought-provoking AY program about Adventism across different islands. It was incredible to hear from our church family members who shared insights about how the Adventist message has touched lives around the world. We learned so much and were inspired by the diverse ways the gospel has been shared in unique cultural contexts.

But the last Sabbath of February took things to a whole new level! It was International Day, and the energy in the church was electric! Members proudly wore vibrant cultural attire, representing their unique countries, while others donned stunning African attire. The choir blew us away with powerful, melodious songs that truly uplifted our spirits. The praise team introduced a new song that got everyone moving, along with a few familiar favorites that brought us all together in worship. There was an undeniable sense of unity and joy that filled the room.

Dr. Keith Burton then delivered a stirring message about standing up for justice and freedom. His sermon, “Get Up, Stand Up!” was a call to action. He challenged us to be the change we want to see in the world, urging us to not just talk about justice but to actively seek it, share it, and live it out. It was a message that stirred our hearts and reminded us that we are not just spectators but agents of transformation in this world.

The day didn’t stop there! In the evening, we hosted a gospel concert that honored legendary gospel artists—both old and new—who have contributed to the richness of gospel music. The audience was captivated as we learned about the artists who paved the way for today’s gospel music scene. And the performances? Absolutely soul-stirring! The melodies resonated deep within, reminding us of the power of music to uplift, inspire, and connect us to God.

And if you thought the night was over, think again! After the concert, the Annual Cultural Social took place, and it was a blast. Everyone changed into their cultural attire, some put on their sneakers, and the fun began! Members brought their traditional dishes to share, while others got to purchase foods from different countries. We learned so much about the cultures represented and had the chance to celebrate the beauty of diversity. The night was filled with laughter, delicious food, healthy competition, and, most importantly, fellowship that brought us all closer together.

As you can see, February was nothing short of inspiring, uplifting, and transformative! Every event and every moment reminded us of how God is working in our lives and in our community. We learned, we grew, and we were challenged to make a difference.

We can never forget the trailblazers who fought for justice and equality before us, and now it’s our turn to continue that legacy at Cornerstone. As we move forward, let’s keep the lessons from February alive, growing in faith, unity, and action, and continuing to make an impact in the world for Christ.
